We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of heavy construction and industrial equipment. This role is critical to keeping operations safe, efficient, and on schedule. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently in the field or shop.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment

• Repair and maintain equipment including (but not limited to): excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, haul trucks, skid steers, and attachments

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime

• Troubleshoot engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering systems, and hydraulic components

• Operate company service trucks and transport equipment as required

• Use diagnostic tools, schematics, and service manuals to complete repairs accurately

• Document repairs, parts used, and maintenance records

• Respond to field service calls and emergency repairs as needed

• Follow all safety policies, DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and company procedures

• Communicate equipment condition and repair status with supervisors and operations staff

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic (or equivalent combination of training and experience)

• Valid Class B CDL (required)

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains

• Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying weather conditions

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• OEM certifications (CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, etc.)

• Welding and fabrication experience

• Field service experience

• Class A CDL

• Experience in construction, mining, or aggregate operations

Hourly Wage: DOE or $35-$40/hour
