Prospect Construction is currently seeking a Construction Project Manager to join our team based out of our Sheridan, Wyoming Office.

​

Prospect Construction is a Heavy Civil Contractor that specializes in water and wastewater treatment plants, hydraulic structures/facilities, shoring systems, large concrete tanks, pump stations/process facilities, dewatering, major excavations, structural steel, process equipment, and mechanical systems.

Prospect began as a General Contractor in 1998, with our first office location in Puyallup Washington. Over the last few decades, Prospect has coupled its expertise in complex projects with its vast level of self-performance to grow into one of the premier treatment plant contractors in the Northwest. This continued growth has allowed Prospect to bring our expertise into new geographical regions, with the establishment of our office in Missoula, Montana in the Fall of 2020 and the opening of our Sheridan, Wyoming Office in the Summer of 2023.

An excellent Construction Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures. Must be able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate shall have an analytical mindset and great organizational skills. Their goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding the budget.

Responsibilities can include but are not limited to: 

  • Provides direct supervision and maintains overall responsibility for the management of construction and quality control activities.

  • Collaborate and assist engineers, architects, and owners to determine the specifications of the project.

  • Negotiate contracts.

  • Obtain permits and licensing.

  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.

  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate overall project CPM schedule to management; project superintendent, owner/engineer, and subcontractors.

  • Analysis of impacts to the project schedule and negotiation of schedule extensions with the owner and their representatives.

  • Attend and lead weekly progress meetings with the owner.

  • Prepare, finalize, and manage the monthly pay request with the owner or their representative in a timely manner to insure receipt of payment in a timely manner.

  • Management of subcontractor costs, submittals, RFIs, schedule, pay requests, change orders and communications.

  • Management of supplier costs, submittals, RFIs, schedule, pay requests, change orders and communications.

  • Management of material purchasing and delivery schedules.

  • Represent and support subcontractor and supplier interests to the Owner or their representative.

  • Perform monthly labor and material budget analysis.

  • Coordinate and manage project detailing requirements, including concrete lift drawing, metal fabrication detail drawings, mechanical layout drawings. Ensure detailing is accomplished to facilitate timely purchase and delivery of materials to the jobsite.

  • Project closeout including as-built drawings, spare parts, O&M manual.

  • Documentation of substantial completion, final completion, and documentation of project warranty dates.

qualifications:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in managing Heavy Civil construction projects with a track record of successful outcomes.

  • Experience with heavy water/ wastewater facilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management or a related degree or comparable work experience.

  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material, project management principles.

  • Along with the ability to understand project scheduling, cost control and to read and understand project owner specifications and engineering drawings.

This position is based out of Sheridan, WY and will require out-of-town work for our projects located more than 1.5 hrs. from Sheridan. Subsistence is provided to cover expenses when traveling. Depending on the complexity of the project, travel could be part time or for the full duration of the project. Projects typically range from 3 months to 1 year and our target areas for this office are Eastern Montana, Wyoming, North & South Dakota.

Salary $100,000-$140,000/Year DOE
