Prospect Construction’s success in the technical, complicated nature of water and wastewater treatment plant construction has allowed seamless crossover to other fields of construction, including cogeneration, biogas treatment, fish facilities, utilities, bridges and building projects.


Prospect Construction, Inc. is currently seeking an All Star Construction Project Manager for Water/Wastewater Treatment/Civil Projects to join our team based out of our Puyallup, WA headquarters.

An excellent Construction Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures. Must be able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate shall have an analytical mindset and great organizational skills.

Their goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct supervision and maintains overall responsibility for the management of construction and quality control activities.

  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies

  • Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done

  • Collaborate with and assist engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project

  • Negotiate contracts

  • Obtain permits and licensing

  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations

  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines be met

  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports

  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues

Responsibilities can include but are not limited to: 

  • Develop and maintain project CPM schedule and monthly CPM schedule updates.

  • Communicate overall project CPM schedule to management; project superintendent; owner/Engineer and Subcontractors.

  • Coordinate and support superintendent’s preparation of the project’s three week look ahead schedule.

  • Analysis of impacts to the project schedule and negotiation of schedule extensions with the owner and their representatives.

  • Attend and lead weekly progress meetings with the owner.

  • Prepare, finalize and manage the monthly pay request with the owner or their representative in a timely manner to insure receipt of payment in a timely manner.

  • Management of subcontractor costs, submittals, RFIs, schedule, pay requests, change orders and communications.

  • Management of supplier costs, submittals, RFIs, schedule, pay requests, change orders and communications.

  • Management of material purchasing and delivery schedules

  • Represent and support subcontractor and supplier interests to the Owner or their representative.

  • Perform monthly labor and material budget analysis.

  • Coordinate and manage project detailing requirements, including concrete lift drawing, metal fabrication detail drawings, mechanical layout drawings.  Ensure detailing is accomplished to facilitate timely purchase and delivery of materials to the jobsite.

  • Project closeout including as-built drawings, spare parts, O&M manual.

  • Documentation of substantial completion, final completion, and documentation of project warranty dates.


  • BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or comparable degree—or equivalent work experience preferred

  • Ability to access and work in all areas of a construction site in all types of environments and weather conditions

  • Ability to work well with a team or independently

  • Strong work ethic and communication skills

  • Thorough attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Great customer service, communication and customer service skills

  • Proven leadership skills and ability to delegate work

  • Exceptional time management skills, ability to estimate work effort and time needed for various construction jobs

  • Excellent writing skills for proposals and reports

  • Excellent technical skills, understanding of construction methods, contracts, blueprints

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with PCI for project status, analyzing risks, and resolving issues.

  • Assuring quality control, contract compliance and administration
