Project Engineer
Prospect Construction, Inc. constructs wastewater/water treatment plants, pumps stations, hatcheries and other heavy civil projects throughout the Northwest. We are currently hiring for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities

Collaborate with Project Manager to establish project schedule and budget, and monitor progress in meeting schedule and budget requirements.

Review shop drawings/submittals to identify risk/opportunity, review detailing process and drawings.

Assist in 3 week look ahead and plan required work.

Review baseline CPM with project team and assist with work and foreman binders.

Control project costs by cost code knowledge, track and log cost code quantities, review cost reports and provide feedback to superintendent and foreman, identify extra work – document time and materials, assist in change order pricing.

Management of documents project submittals and RFI’s.

Review superintendent approved time cards.

Overlook, manage and partner with assigned subcontractors, prepare subcontractor monthly pay applications, assist with subcontractor’s punch list, discover and resolve conflicts between Prospect Construction and subcontractors.

Drafting of job purchase orders and subcontracts.

Work with Safety Coordinator to ensure adherence to Prospect Construction safety policies.

Develop project documents, processes, and procedures required to support quality control and final project deliverables.

Oversee quality control including interaction with inspectors, permit compliance assurance, collaboration with superintendent(s) and foreman to ensure quality and review plans/specs for project quality requirements.

Oversee materials - work with superintendent and foreman to ensure all materials are onsite, inventory and organize all received materials, ensure material specification compliance.

Ensure all required legal notices are posted at the job sites.

Establish site security measures as required and monitors site access by subcontractors and others.

Documents and executes changes in scope of project.

Promote and foster Prospect Construction culture to work force.

Foster partnership and relationship development between owner and work force.

Maintains accurate documentation of job progress through daily logs and other reports.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Preferred Education / Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or construction-related field (or equivalent) and 1-3 years related work experience is required and demonstrated self- performing experience in the construction field.

Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required.
Special Skills
-
Knowledge of Windows Office Systems; particularly in Excel, Word and Outlook.

Competent in specification, plan, and drawing reading and interpretations.

Ability to prepare clear and concise oral and written communications.

Demonstrated team and leadership skills.
