Position Overview

Prospect Construction is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join our Washington State team. This position is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for complex heavy civil infrastructure projects including earthwork, utilities, excavation, and treatment facilities.

​

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in civil estimating, subcontractor coordination, and project strategy development.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed project cost estimates and bid proposals

• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents

• Develop self-perform and subcontractor pricing

• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams

• Visit project sites and attend pre-bid meetings

• Identify constructability issues and value engineering opportunities

• Develop bid schedules and proposal timelines

• Analyze project risks and develop competitive bid strategies

• Assist with proposal development and technical writing

• Support final bid reviews and estimate closeout

 

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of heavy civil estimating experience

• Experience with earthwork, grading, utilities, and excavation projects

• Strong understanding of construction plans and specifications

• Proficiency with estimating software such as HCSS, Timberline, and Trimble

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently

 

Preferred Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

• Experience estimating water/wastewater or complex civil infrastructure projects
