Prospect Construction is currently seeking a Traveling Water Transmission Main Superintendent to join our team. This is a full-time, ongoing position.

ROLE: Traveling Water Transmission Main Superintendent

The Superintendent is responsible for the timely completion of the project and ensuring that the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable utility and code standards. The Superintendent shall schedule all crews, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors, as well as ensure their completion of work within the time allowed. The Superintendent shall be responsible for the coordination of work directed in the field and ensure work performed is in accordance with plans and specifications. Conflicts or revisions to the plan shall be communicated with the project team (i.e., PM, engineer, consultant, owner) for mutual resolution prior to execution of work that deviates from the approved plans. The Superintendent shall establish and enforce job site safety and quality control programs to ensure quality completion of construction.

Responsibilities can include but are not limited to:

• Assist in building and growing field teams by identifying, recruiting, and hiring qualified crew members.

• Schedule crews, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion; oversee pipeline installation, trenching, tie-ins, and pressure testing operations.

• Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.

• Communicate with project team regarding RFIs, pipe alignment sheets, and material submittals; assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions.

• Ensure that crews and subcontractors are executing and complying with contracted scope of work and complying with safety, health, and environmental quality standards, including OSHA and AWWA requirements.

• Coordinate required inspections with water agencies and local jurisdictions.

• Maintain daily written log of activities on the jobsite.

• Walk project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning; perform job progress and punch list identification and completion.

• Preside over weekly coordination meetings designed to organize the work; preside at pre-construction meetings with each crew or subcontractor.

• Issue notices of non-compliance in regard to quality of work or scheduling.

• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, construction drawings, pipe alignment sheets, and procedure manuals.

• Write routine reports and correspondence.

• Provide direction to and resolve problems on the project.

• Travel to and manage projects across multiple states as assigned, including extended time away from home base.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five (5) years of verifiable water transmission main or large-diameter pipeline construction experience required.

• Experience managing crews and projects involving pipe installation, trenching, shoring, tie-ins, and pressure/leak testing.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project & Outlook).

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and pipe alignment sheets.

• Physically able to safely lift up to 75 lbs.

• Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including open trench excavations and remote work areas.

• Strong experience in leadership, safety, planning, and crew management.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Abide by Prospect Safety and Health policies; monitor jobsite general health and safety.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively and relocate to project sites as needed.
