Job Title: Estimating Assistant

Location: Puyallup, WA 

Reports to: Senior Estimator

Prospect Construction, Inc began as a General Contractor, specializing in the water and wastewater treatment industries. Prospect Construction’s success in the technical, complicated nature of water and wastewater treatment plant construction has allowed seamless crossover to other fields of construction, including cogeneration, biogas treatment, fish facilities, utilities, bridges and building projects.

 

Prospect Construction, Inc. is currently seeking an All Star Estimating Assistant to join our team based out of our Puyallup, WA headquarters.

The Estimating Assistant must be able to gather proposals, read, and understand blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Estimating Assistant:

• Solicit and obtain pricing from vendors and subcontractors using Building Connected, email, and phone

• Manage DBE good faith efforts

• Organize/print/file bidding documents

• Hyperlink Blue Beam bid documents

• Update bidding documents with addenda

• Review Project Insurance Requirements, and obtain quotes for any compliance needed.

• Obtain bid bonds

• Compile bid documents

• Turn in bids-Bid Runner Duties

• Fill out qualification forms for Owners

• Assemble marketing packages for Owners

• Maintain project references and company experience forms

• Manage completed project historical records

• Manage potential client database

• Record bid results and manage historical records

• Obtain current labor rates for various areas

• Assist Estimators with Project Turnover Documents to Operations upon successful bid.

• Must be willing to embrace and support our core values (Passion, Courage, Team, Stewardship)

• Review Plan rooms Daily and send all potential leads to Chief Estimator

• Update and maintain bidding roster

Preferred Education/Knowledge & Skills:

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Construction related field to be familiar with Materials and methods.

• College education a plus, Degree not required

• Building Connected and Blue Beam experience a plus

• Windows Office Systems

• Basic specification, plan, and drawing reading and interpretations

• Ability to prepare clear and concise oral and written communications
